This notice is provided in line with Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the "EU AI Act"). It covers the Basewise platform (DRE, RQA, REF, AI Assistant Chat, and Knowledge Chat) only, not the basewise.ai marketing website.
02 About Basewise's AI-powered platform
Basewise operates an AI-powered platform for systems engineering, made up of five applications: DRE (Document Requirements Extractor), RQA (Requirements Quality Analysis), REF (requirements evidence and verification), AI Assistant Chat, and Knowledge Chat. Where these applications use AI to generate responses or insights, you are clearly informed at the point of interaction that you are engaging with an AI system, not a human, in accordance with Article 50(1) of the EU AI Act.
Each application displays a disclosure at first interaction, with a direct link to this notice.
Scope of our AI features. Basewise's applications generate and process text-based content, extracting requirements from documents, verifying evidence against requirements, analysing requirement quality, and answering questions from a knowledge base. They do not deploy emotion recognition or biometric categorisation systems within the meaning of Article 50(3) of the EU AI Act, and they do not generate or manipulate image, audio, or video content constituting a "deep fake" within the meaning of Article 50(4). If this changes, this notice will be updated before the relevant feature is made available.
Our technical partner. The platform is operated by Basewise Consultancy B.V. Gysho Limited is engaged as our technical implementation partner, responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining the AI-powered applications on our behalf. Basewise remains responsible for the functional design, content, and overall user experience of the platform.
03 How our AI works, and its known limitations
Our AI generates responses based on patterns in available data and algorithms. It does not think, reason, or verify facts the way a human does. Due to the current limitations of generative AI technology, our AI systems may occasionally produce information that is incorrect, misleading, incomplete, or out of date, for example, an extracted requirement, a verification result, or a chat answer that appears authoritative but is inaccurate. This phenomenon, sometimes called "hallucination," is a known limitation of all advanced AI systems.
04 Labelling of AI-generated content
Content generated by Basewise's applications, including extracted requirements, quality-analysis scores, verification results, and chat responses, is visibly labelled as AI-generated at the point of display, in accordance with Article 50 of the EU AI Act. Basewise is working towards machine-readable marking of AI-generated outputs as European standards and codes of practice for marking techniques are adopted.
05 Your data is not used to train our AI
Documents, requirements, prompts, and messages you submit to the platform are not used to train or fine-tune the underlying AI models, whether ours or those of our infrastructure providers. Processing by our AI inference providers is transient: no persistent copy of your inputs is retained by them beyond what is needed to generate the response you requested.
06 Do not rely solely on AI for critical or high-stakes decisions
Basewise's applications are assistive tools, not substitutes for professional engineering judgement. Given that outputs from DRE, RQA, and REF may inform requirements management, verification planning, and compliance decisions in regulated sectors, always have a qualified discipline related engineer review AI-generated requirements, quality scores, and verification results before relying on them for safety-related, contractual, or regulatory purposes. Where a feature references external data or retrieved evidence, review the original source documents for full context and accuracy.
07 Feedback and support
If you encounter AI-generated content in the platform that you believe is incorrect, misleading, or unhelpful, please contact us at contact[@]basewise.ai. Your feedback helps us improve the accuracy, safety, and reliability of the platform.
